Photographer and author of Photographs of Hands

RICHARD SEAH is a person of many interests, many talents.

Richard is self-taught in photography, which he pursued since the mid-1970s, but quit for about 10 years from the mid-1990s to 2003.

In 2005, he launched his photography website, www.art-photograph-gallery.com. He began to take the
art more seriously and to call himself a ‘photographic artist’. A major milestone came in November 2007, when he bought his first digital SLR, a Fuji S5 Pro. He has since taken over 30,000 photographs – much much more than in his past 30-plus years!

Richard is a member of the JPG community of photographers, where he is among the less than 0.1 percent of published JPGers, with two images and an article on Night Photography published in Issue #19 of JPG Magazine. He is also a member of the Red Bubble community of artists.

In Singapore, his works have been published in To Singapore with Love, Harmony of Minds and a commemorative book for delegates of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, who met in Singapore in 2006. Also in 2006, he won second prize in Something Old, Something New, a photography contest organised to mark the re-opening of the Singapore National Museum.

Two of his photographs of hands. Bali Blessings and Incense, have been acquired for the permanent art collection of Ngee Ann Cultural Centre.

This is his first book. More will follow.
